In the 1920’s an exciting new beachside suburb was designed to create a seaside playground for the people of Perth City. Centred around a “double beachfront” connected by an oceanfront promenade and focusing on futuristic design principals of the Garden Cities Movement, the planning embraced way out concepts for the time such as night floodlighting for the beachfront and public music systems on the beach. Building commenced in the 1930’s and “Old Central City Beach” was born.

7 streets in total surrounded the jewel in the crown, Dodonia Gardens – a hill top dress circle with amazing views and land portions up to twice the size of neighbouring streets. Over the decades Dodonia has been a hotbed of exciting homes architecture (think Iwanoff, Krantz), and to this day the trend of intangibly beautiful housing continues.

Situated in Old Central City’s most adorable dress circle, this is quite possibly the best block of land in the entire suburb. Approaching a land parcel of almost 1500sqm, this absolutely enormous Mark Bradley (Quay West Resort Bunker Bay) architect designed residence offers ground floor views simply unattainable anywhere else in the suburb. The completely uninterrupted ground floor ocean views from almost every room are incredible and from the elevated back deck give the illusion of being able to dip your toes into the sparkling blue ocean from the edge of the drop-off.

New England inspired interiors blend clean whites and timberwork throughout to create atmospheric light filled spaces. The sprawling floor plan provides the equivalent of two houses inside. Only a short stroll to the coast reserve through a private walkway just outside your front gate.

The ground floor enjoys the spectacular outlook across the coastal reserve to the ocean from almost every room. Flowing from the clean, spacious white kitchen and meals area, the expansive and bright living and dining rooms feature copious glass windows to utilise the no less than magical views available.

With floor to ceiling built in bookcases, the large study or library is a peaceful room with fabulous views. The second study (or bedroom) is a great workspace or home office. Five king sized bedrooms complete the first floor accommodation, including a large main bathroom and luxurious ensuite in the master suite.

Down the stairs, the fully self-contained guest wing or au pair’s quarters has the functionality of an entire second residence. Including a gym, vast living/dining spaces, a second kitchen, separate living room, second laundry and wine cellar, as well as access to the stunning back yard and mind boggling views to the ocean. This wing opens the house to multigenerational living opportunities for your elderly parents or adult kids.

Outdoors, the beautiful backyard wanders seamlessly between the first and ground levels. The paved first floor alfresco takes advantage of the most breath taking views to Rottnest Island, and the below ground pool sits just on the edge of the drop off. With plenty of gardens and lawn for the kids to explore, this is an exceptional space for the family.

Located in a quiet cul-de-sac just minutes to the beach, this is a phenomenal and absolutely rare opportunity for a seemingly endless family home with unsurpassable ground floor ocean views.

Discover city beach

The juxtaposition of being the most central and closest beachside suburb to the heart of Perth City, yet abundant in nature, greenery and expansive wide open spaces is at the core of the allure of City Beach. Almost completely surrounded by a green belt, it is cocooned by an amazing natural buffer of Bold Park, the Golf course, Army Reserve and the sparkling Indian Ocean and internally interwoven by a network of parks many of which meander all the way from one end of the suburb to the other without even crossing a road. City Beach is a suburb like nowhere else.
