City Beach

The juxtaposition of being the most central and closest beachside suburb to the heart of Perth City, yet abundant in nature, greenery and expansive wide open spaces is at the core of the allure of City Beach. Almost completely surrounded by a green belt, it is cocooned by an amazing natural buffer of Swanbourne Army Reserve, Cottesloe Golf Club, Bold Park/Perry Lakes/Reabold Hill, The Wembley Golf Course, the sparkling Indian Ocean and internally interwoven by a network of parks many of which meander all the way from one end of the suburb to the other without even crossing a road. City Beach is a suburb like nowhere else.

Perched on the edge of the Indian Ocean with an incredible 4.5 Km of beachfront which incorporates two iconic rock groynes, two surf clubs with patrolled swimming areas, an array of beachfront cafes, acres of desolate back beach and a beachfront army reserve, this is a stretch of coastline that is both vast and diverse.

City Beach is Central to all of Perth’s most exclusive private schools (Hale and St Mary’s to the north and Scotch, MLC, PLC, and Christchurch to the south) with regular bus services to all. Within its boundaries are the Japanese School Perth as well as three primary schools, City Beach Primary, Kapinara Primary, and Holy Spirit all of which are very highly regarded.

Catch a show in the middle of the forest at the Quarry Amphitheatre – one of the great Perth City experiences. Grab a coffee, meal or sunset drink with friends at one of the various waterfront cafes. Shop with ease in one of two community shopping precincts. Exercise in the parks, bush or beach.
