Oceanside Architectural Masterpiece on Sprawling Landholding
Ever so rarely, a home that has intrigued many and been home to a precious and fortunate few, finds its way to the market.
Bespoke, beautiful, timeless and tranquil, there are very few homes that offer a sense of place and peace – and those that do are to be pursued and then loved before that opportunity is lost for another 50 years.
This wonderful, award-winning and inspiring home – resting on a sprawling north-facing landholding – was originally designed by renowned Architect Ken Adam, with later additions performed by Peter Hunt and Jeff Considine, who won the architectural award in 1979 for the work he did.
The home evokes instant feelings of calm and peacefulness, with a sense that the living spaces are suspended and enveloped within gardens and greenery – which not only border interior living spaces but almost feel like they are floating into the home itself. Designed by Jenny and Neil Delmage of Naturescape Design, the gardens are a lush oasis which evokes serenity and a sense of peace.
Timber shutters that open directly from the bedrooms into the gardens, outdoor water features that seamlessly merge into the inside living spaces, doors that open out onto terraces that frame gardens and pathways to private enclaves of lawn and lush greenery – all merge effortlessly to create a residence that feels like something found in some hidden location, in a secret and magical enclave far far away.
Bricks that were dug up from Byford Brickworks – which had been buried for 50 years and used to line the intense heat of the kilns, create an artistic and wonderfully unique framework of distortion, striking colour and theatre throughout the residence. Beams of Orogen Pine line the ceiling and she-oak and jarrah boards rest underfoot, whilst Swiss tiles line the roof and mingle delightfully within the treetops.
Held and loved by the same family for some 50 years – it was and has always been an architectural work of art and life, merging into a home that reflects the warmth and appreciation of natural and inspired spaces – never to date and always to love.

Discover city beach
The juxtaposition of being the most central and closest beachside suburb to the heart of Perth City, yet abundant in nature, greenery and expansive wide open spaces is at the core of the allure of City Beach. Almost completely surrounded by a green belt, it is cocooned by an amazing natural buffer of Swanbourne Army Reserve, Cottesloe Golf Club, Bold Park/Perry Lakes/Reabold Hill, The Wembley Golf Course, the sparkling Indian Ocean and internally interwoven by a network of parks many of which meander all the way from one end of the suburb to the other without even crossing a road. City Beach is a suburb like nowhere else.Suburb Profile
